Managing Moss on Putting Greens

Over the past two seasons efforts to eliminate the Silvery Thread Moss that has plagued Pine Hollow's Putting Greens for years has been slow. Along with our more aggressive aeration schedule, tree removal program and hand removal, this month we will begin making chemical applications to eradicate these unsightly imperfections. Please be aware these areas will be turning off color and will have a negative aesthetic impact. The best time to make these applications is before the heat of summer sets in and once grass is actively and aggressively growing to out compete the suppressed moss. Thanks.
